C is for Caligula

Comfortably rested after the weekend? Caught up with the chores, and your Comrades? Cool, then let's Commence with the Challenge - Currently we are seeing to C, and Coming up is :

is for Caligula

Caligula the straight but bent ruler

Once upon a time lived Caligula
and he was a most unusual rulah -
he was a king who liked flings
with married gals and siblings
and he didn’t know a fib from a fibula.

Oh, but he did know a fig from a figure
and he pursued the women with all vigour.
Even so, he was often bored
he had Romans eaten or gored
when the entertainment failed or got meagre.

Caligula  lived and ruled in AnCient Rome in the 1st Century BCE. A bit megalomaniac-ish and definitely insane, he wanted to appoint his horse as Consul. He was assassinated, and then many sCandalous things were Circulated about him, in ancient times, it was Common to present sexual perversity as a sign of insanity.  However, he was definitely an oddball and terribly Cruel, and I am not Covering up for him or anything.

Can I once again request, entreat, beseeCh those of you kind enough to read and Comment here, please leave me a direct link/web address so that I can visit.  I am Clueless about G+ and my grade on locating blogs therein is a G-. ThanC, I mean, thank you!

Caligula was a messed up dude. He did know women's figures, including his sister's.

  5. Luckily, I'm in the left sidebar, too! Caligula was a pervert, even for Rome. When the Caesars began killing off each other, they were thinning out the gene pool. Caligula is one of the results.

    1. He was indeed, seriously botched up...though have to point out ancient world attitudes to.... knowing the figures of one own sisters was somewhat fuzzier than it is today, especially among the nobility/royalty...but he was in a different league altogether

  20. I liked your little fables about Caligula, though I don't think I would enjoy meeting him personally; he doesn't seem like too nice of a guy sometimes!

I also like your note for people to leave links; it can be so frustrating trying to get into some journals, can't it?
