Incommunicado

Hibiscus schizopetalus. Common names
- fringed rosemallow, Japanese lantern,
coral hibiscus and spider hibiscus. From
the garden earlier today. First intro.
Recognised it was a hibiscus from the
leaves. So Botany Teachers, your lectures
haven't gone completely waste :)

What’s a solstice? or even three -

I’ll still be reaching for the phone

till the last stronghold of memory

tumbles into ruin and is gone.

All seven seas and all time zones,

include the seven ages of man,

and seven more births that follow on

and the entire galactic gameplan -

it will still flash into the brain

instantly at anything new

that I must get back, call and share -

transmit this pulse of thrill to you,

before the surge ebbs out again.

You are out of reach, everywhere.

True... but then we have blogs to share such thoughts and I, at least, have found that to be a solace! YAM xx

    1. Absolutely! Blogs are therapy and friendship and serenity and innumerable other things besides. Connections above rubies!

  3. There is so much that's happened since my parents died. And I can't tell them any of it. I hope they know anyway.

    1. Of course they know anyway. And are looking out for us and sending us things that we need exactly when we need them. But the compulsion to talk stuff over with them - that's unmet. Not sure when or how that's going to get resolved - but I know that will be managed too.

  4. Hi Nila - your commenters are wise ... and I'm so grateful to have started blogging - an amazing world ... and so much to be enhanced through thoughts from 'somewhere' to learn from ...

I was fascinated by the Webb telescope being able to go back in deep time so far ... I'd love 'to see' that journey of our planet ... cheers Hilary

  6. Absolutely beautiful and poignant, Nila. I liked what Damyanti picked out - "pulse of thrill". Brings up all sorts of images.

    1. Thanks, Denise! I actually had one set of images in my mind but Hilary took them in an astronomically different direction with her comment :) New knowledge is such a huge pulse of thrill always.
