Hello, all ye who click on to here! Welcome to the A-Z Theme
Reveal, where I am struggling to reveal what I am planning to pass off for a
theme this year. Life has been a bit crazy, I’ve been, well, preoccupied watching news videos in a mindless loop…so. Really, this post-truth world does not
suit my constitution, no pun intended.
Anyways, the upshot is, when the sign-up post suddenly flashed
into view on the A-Z site, whaaaagh…no inkling of a theme! I signed up pronto
(I mean, have you seen the colours on that badge?! who wouldn’t?!) But not one clue
on the theme, a most panic-inducing situation.
I get these eureka moments most A-Zs –
someone mentions something like W is for wooden and that sparks off a ‘oh-that-would-make-a-nifty-theme’ type
thought. But then I promptly forget by the time the next A-Z comes around.
So I’ve learnt to write them down
somewhere, but then I forget where. However, desperation is the mother of due diligence – therefore I went looking for them and went through everything with a fine-toothed
comb…nope, didn’t find anything. I know they are somewhere, but I have no
access since I can’t remember the filename or where I put it. No luck. Necessity would have to be the
mother of invention instead. Again.
The deepest darkness is always before dawn. There was this random
stack of books lying on my table. One of those titles? – it would do. Accordingly, my theme this year is –
India in 26 Objects
Yup, it’s stolen shamelessly from A History
of the World in 100 Objects by Neil MacGregor - but then imitation is the best form of flattery. It’s a thumping great read
btw, in case you’re interested. Thoroughly recommended.
I’ve no idea how this will work out, right now I have only the
most rudimentary ideas in my head, I can use a couple of ‘objects’ lying around
my home, but where the rest are going to come from is a monumental question
mark. I am way less prepared than I have been in the other years. I mean, most
of my posts, the music – (of course there has to be music!) and the main theme
item, are sorted out by sign-up time.
It looks like I’m going to be (gasp!) pantzing through most of the A-Z this year.
Even last year, which was another super topsy-turvy one, I was better organised
than this. But...enough. We each have what we have. And I think I have a theme
here. I’m going to give it my best shot. Let's see if I survive. Onward! See you in April!

:) Spectacular is as spectacular does! Thanks for your confidence in my pantsing :)

ReplyDeleteFabulous, Nila! I had hoped to be back for my second go at A-Z this year... but life has rather conspired against me. I shall have to once again watch from the sidelines. YAM xx
Oh I do hope it has conspired its way into good things for you!
DeleteBest of luck! Sometimes the mad ideas we come up with on the spur of the moment lead to great things.😂💖

Tasha's Thinkings & Virginia's Parlour
Thank you - I am totally banking on that thought! :) :)
DeleteThat sounds like a great theme!
ReplyDeleteIt's worked out great in the book, dunno if it will when I try it :)
DeleteNot participating this year, but I'm looking forward to your posts.
ReplyDeleteThanks for being here!
DeleteSounds like a great theme and I know you'll do it well!
ReplyDeleteThanks, feeling a bit shaky right now, but maybe it'll improve. :)
DeleteI look forward to seeing what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteSee you there next month!
DeleteI love Neil MacGregor's objects, so this sounds like a great theme to me!
ReplyDeleteYa, I do too, they're fascinating. Mine far more ordinary though :)
DeleteInteresting theme!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteAs always I look forward to learning, being surprised, and enjoying your A to Z. I have no doubt you will not be caught with your pants down! Nifty subject and I look forward to April.
ReplyDeleteThanks Joanne! Right now they are round ye olde ankles :)
DeleteI've no doubt that you'll do this just fine! Sounds like a great theme, I can't wait to see it in action. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Renee! I still remember the GWTW one of yours - my benchmark for a great A-Z!
DeleteHey, from one pantser to another - you'll do fine; I know from some past history.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the reassurance! Fingers crossed! :)
DeleteGlad you were able to come up with a theme. Good luck pulling all of your posts together. Weekends In Maine
ReplyDeleteThank you, we'll see...feel it's easier to get through the A-Z with a theme, pantsing or otherwise...
DeleteHi Nilanjana. I'm trying my hand at History too. And well I am so jittery. I think I'm biting more than I can chew!
ReplyDeleteBut having read you before I know you will be stupendous. I just know it. The theme sounds interesting and unique...Because I have no idea of the book! So I will be dropping by often. Good luck!
Thank you. The gentleman is an erudite Oxford scholar and the collection he discusses is absolutely fabulous stuff from the Brit Museum, so that book is just wonderful to get one's teeth into...my series is going to be rather lowbrow and ordinary I'm afraid... :p
DeleteAbsolutely looking forward to what you'll share this year.
ReplyDeleteLook forward to reading yours too. See you in April.
DeleteHey Nila, I'd thought it'd be a slam dunk for you! Recent Indian history...judging by your FB posts, that's where your passion lies currently!
ReplyDeleteI'm less curious about modern history, it's the ancient and even the prehistory that really fascinates me :)
DeleteGreat theme, I will learn a lot about India!
ReplyDeleteMy 2020 AtoZ Reveal
Insha'allah, ya!
Delete"India in 26 Objects" Interesting. Would you like to write on "Productivity in India" and "NITIE: National Institute of Industrial Engineering." My two suggestions based on my theme. Industrial Engineering Practice in Top Global Manufacturing Companies - Top 100 Look forward to reading your posts.
ReplyDeleteNot a technical person I'm afraid, wouldn't know much about either topic. All the best for your A-Z.
DeleteIf it's history, I'm all in. Besides, I'm always in with yout themes ;-)
ReplyDeleteI can relate, as a history fan! :)
DeleteHi Nila - great idea ... so pleased you're going in that direction ... I'll thoroughly enjoy the reads - I'll probably do it ... just need to get into gear - cheers Hilary
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your posts and your participation, they're always fun and so informative.
DeleteI cant wait to read your content. How are you selecting these items though? Anyways you select them, I'm definitely reading you throughout April.
ReplyDeleteDo check out if my theme interests you: http://www.rightpurchasing.com/a2zchallenge/

Selecting stuff around the house mostly...thanks!
DeleteI follow back all those who follow here. I believe that's the done thing :)
ReplyDeleteHa, ha, Nilanjana, that’s why it’s called a challenge ... I’m sure you’ll think of something ....
ReplyDeleteStay safe and sound ... and inspired. You’re a WEP winner after all.
It's going to be more of a challenge than usual! :) Thanks for the wishes.
DeleteSounds a great theme to me!! Good luck!! :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteYou'll rock the A - Z world, Nila. Might be a good diversion at this difficult time. I'll read your posts in bulk when I can. April is crazy all round.
ReplyDeleteCrazy is the perfect word to describe these times! Stay safe and healthy, you and fam.
DeleteI'm late to this reveal, Nila - apologies as it's mid-April now. First, your ‘oh-that-would-make-a-nifty-theme’ thoughts. I have those so last year I created an Excel file with the intention of using it to decide this year's theme. It worked - until I decided I was too stretched and had to do reposts from earlier challenges.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I am so sorry to learn of your 'unfortunate family circumstances' so understand your decision not to continue posting. I feel powerless to do more than send my deepest blessing and thoughts, and I will be praying for you all.
