Finale

Still my mind and teach me to hear

the absence of a stream

the sparkle of air, crystal clear

the outline of a dream

still my mind and teach me to read

the red lines behind the gauge

give me the skillsets that I need

to deink and strip this page

open me up to the noughts hidden

in the maze of days and nights

the trees and music, tinsel, ribbons

the spectra of festive lights

teach me to grow through colours and shapes

of silence, absence and voidscapes.

So...that's the final word. It's been a relentlessly hard year, glad to see the back of it. Thank you for your support and your time, here and on the other platforms of engagement. Wishing you a joyful, peaceful and healthful New Year 2021.

  4. I am leary of 2021. I remember how glad people were to welcome 2020. So tired. Trying to be hopeful.

    1. I know! It's been exhausting! Each year seems to get more frazzling than the one before. But I think we've hit rock bottom with 2020. Nowhere 2021 can go but up. Hopefully. Stay safe and well.

  6. Hi Nila - wise words to end last year ... none of us could have imagined these times ... though the warnings were there for some to see - we just need some leaders who can see beyond their own noses ...

'teach me to grow through colours and shapes
of silence, absence and voidscapes.' wonderful words I sure I hope I learn beautiful shades and colours this year - when it let's us. All the best - Hilary
