Unexpected growth

Attach. Detach. Pursuit.
Remember! actions only!
bloody hands off the fruit!
Solitary. Not equal to lonely
quite legal, no dispute.
Care well. Farewell. Scoot.
What the heck has grown, Lee?
The nomad grows a root!

Karmany evadhikaras te ma phaleshu kadachana
Ma karmaphala-hetur bhur ma te sangostava karmani

Ch 2: 47, Bhagavad-Gita

(You have the right to prescribed actions, but never to their outcomes.  You should never be motivated by the results, nor should there be any attachment towards not performing your duty.)

  1. The Gita is so controversial -- Song of God, indeed!
    Really? The senses are evil?
Your poems say you are no fan of Krishna's words -- thank god.

    1. Senses evil - you miss the point of hinduism (under case deliberate) my "mitra", it celebrates the senses, it obfuscates the senses, it demeans the senses, it elevates it to the sublime (remember, krishna the god of love).
The poem of hinduism has survived 4 Millennia precisely because it encompases/nurtures sense and sensibility- does not exclude like the others.
Welcome to the empbrace of the oldest living religion-
Chotu bose -no fan of krishna, brahma is the one!

    2. um...I am actually a great fan of the Gita...whatever little I know of it...and of the scriptures of several other religions too....whatever little I know of those...this poem has been written from a quite Gita-neutral place @Sabio Lantz

  4. Well, I'm not sure this is anti-Gita. (Which doesn't bother me.) I really like this poem. You've been unexpected in so many ways - style and form and content -I found it very cool - a very cool transliteration as it were. Really well done.

    1. Thank you so much for your feedback...this poem is an attempt to take a very vast n lofty philosophy and apply it in an accessible and fun way to one teeny tiny life...very glad you liked it and also that I was able to get that message across

    1. The message is the same, no controversy... “keep doing your job, keep on the right side of the law, you can’t control the outcomes, and remember, you have to go back home, so don’t get too attached, don’t grow deep roots”....maybe the slang words make the “feel” of it controversial...but it’s not. All of us are nomads, and home can be across the borders or in a different spiritual world, take your pick....It’s good to have you here this morning Ramya! Many thanks for your feedback :)
